Riding The Intelligence Tsunami

We are on the cusp of one of the biggest wealth-creating and most disruptive transformations in human history.

As co-founder and CEO of Physical Intelligence, Karol Hausman is applying universal leadership principles to ride The Intelligence Tsunami.

Identify the essential mission. There are amazing advances in large language models like ChatGPT operating in the digital world to understand and process language with remarkable accuracy. Most of our human experience, though, is based on our perceptions of the physical world that we see, hear, feel, smell, and taste. Robots operate in the physical world of making and moving things, too. Physical Intelligence is creating a general-purpose brain that can manage a large variety of robots, revolutionizing how they interact with the physical world.

Along with Hausman, a former Google researcher, and UC Berkeley professor Sergey Levine, Physical Intelligence has a stellar team, including Chelsea Finn, Brian Ichter, and Lachy Groom, who bring a wealth of experience from their respective fields. 

Empower the team with the resources needed to succeed. The company has raised $70 million in funding to accelerate their progress from notable investors, including Thrive Capital, OpenAI, and Sequoia Capital.

Ensure the team is accountable for clear, measurable milestones. Given its blue-chip technology investors, the company almost certainly has a milestone-driven plan to become a unicorn with a valuation of over $1 billion.   

Let go so talented, creative individuals can thrive and innovate. If Hausman succeeds as CEO, he’ll have to let his great team do what only they can do. Even notorious micro-managers like Steve Jobs relied on Apple’s iconic product designer Jony Ive and Elon Musk depends on SpaceX CEO Gwynne Shotwell to make the rockets fly.

Physical Intelligence's competition is robust from companies like Tesla and Figure, which recently announced deploying humanoid robots at BMW Manufacturing in Spartanburg. Physical Intelligence believes their unique perspective and comprehensive approach to integrating AI and robotics positions them to break new ground to boldly go where no one has gone before.
